July- Lou Allin
Lou Allin is a local Mystery author living in Sooke, BC. Born in Toronto, she relocated to the US, where she recieved at Ph.D in English Renaissance literature. She evetually moved back to Canada where she taught at Cambrian College.
Allin’s love of animals has inspired her to incorporate four legged companions into her novels, beginning with her Belle Palmer series, which follows mystery solving realtor Belle Palmer and her German shepherd Freya. You can read about these two characters in: Northern Winters Are Murder, Blackflies Are Murder, Bush Poodles Are Murder, Murder, Eh? and Memories Are Murder.

June- Angela Dorsey
Angela Dorsey grew up in B.C, Canada, and has had a love for horses (the subject and inspiration for many of her works) since she was a young girl. She now lives with her family on Vancouver Island, B.C
Since writting her first book, Dorsey has written over 20 juvenile fiction novels that have been published around the world in 9 different languages. As of yet she has 3 series: the Freedom series, the Horse Guardian series, and the Whinnies in the Wind series.
Angela Dorsey’s novels are great for juvenile readers, especially those who love horses. Many of her novels are available here at the Reading Room Bookstore, and some are also available in french.
