Do You Tweet??
Are you a Book Seller, Book Lover, Book Reviewer or Book Writer using Twitter to tweet about what you’re selling, what you’re reading or what you’re writing??
How’s the experience/ endeavour working for you??
We have been tweeting on a quasi regular basis for the past six months or so, and have had some interesting results.
We caught the attention of a prominent Victoria tweep (the ever amazing @lacouvee) who made the trek out to sit down for tea, have had our blog well read when we have posted something new and tweeted the links, and generally have enjoyed the experience of being able to connect with and follow Book-y type news from all over the world!!
Twitter has allowed us to spread the word about book readings and events, soup specials and new salads, as well as support the online endeavours of other local Sooke businesses…. something we really really love to do!
We have truly found twitter to be such an amazing source of information, relationship building and connection, well, and just a ton of fun. Follow US ? http://twitter.com/rrsooke
Looking forward to tweeting with you

The Power of Online Relationships: Sooke Does Twitter Proud
I was going to write this post today just about Squidoo, and then some amazing stuff happened, and it seemed more relevant to speak to the Power cultivating online relationships can build.
Twitter has been abuzz lately with the advent of Oprah and Barbara Walters, and the race between CNN and Ashton Kutcher, but the true power of this type of social media lies in the relationships that are built between regular everyday people. Whether for business or personal exploration, Twitter is a most valuable tool. Ripe with resources on whatever topic you care to imagine, the amount of information one can access in a half hour sitting is truly remarkable. This is only upstaged by the amazing and truly genuine relationships one can build at the same time.
Twitter connects people like no other media has been able to accomplish before. It also allows for the development of supportive and mutually beneficial relationships and friendships across time zones, oceans and mountains ranges. Twitter knows no bounds and is only limited by ones own imagination, and well, time
.
And, this small town of ours, Sooke, B.C., tweets with the best of them! When we are all too busy to sit down face to face, it allows for interaction and information flow of epic proportions. It is not going out on a limb to say that even business in Sooke is well supported by local endeavors on Twitter. Bravo Sooke Bravo! You have heeded the call of social media and have thrived as a result.
In Sooke and not on Twitter? What the heck are you waiting for? http://www.twitter.com
Get yourself set up and then follow the following:
@discoversooke @rrsooke @freshleafdesign @confidentwomen @TimAyres @wifela @saltsclothing
Then check out their followers and do some following of your own. Your life, your business, your psyche will Thank you

To Kindle Or Not To Kindle: Not For Kindle2 in Canada
Whatever your thoughts on the ubiquitous Kindle, you are sadly out of luck as a Canadian if you are interested in Amazon’s latest version of the digital reader.
As the National Post reported in February, the Kindle2 will not make the cross border journey any time soon. http://www.nationalpost.com/arts/books/story.html?id=1273246
But, this still begs the question…will you Kindle?
Will you miss the ability to leaf back through pages to reread a certain paragraph for clarity, or be happy with the access and portability of a library at your fingertips?
Do reply, we really want to know:) Where do you stand on the Kindle??
